Katherine Franck is a real estate and commercial development attorney who focuses her practice on land use and corporate transactions.

Katherine regularly advises landlords and tenants on preparing and negotiating commercial lease agreements for a variety of properties, including luxury retail shopping centers, medical offices, and warehouses, among others. She also drafts and reviews other agreements related to leases, including renewals, termination, construction and build out, guarantor, subleases, and ground leases.

She also reviews title reports and surveys, manages closings, helps determine realty transfer taxes, drafts broker agreements and tenant estoppel letters, and coordinates 1031 exchanges, all related to the acquisition and disposition of commercial properties. She has also advised clients on real estate financing, including drafting and reviewing promissory notes, mortgages, and balloon riders.

In her corporate transactions work, Katherine handles and drafts agreements related to mergers and acquisitions. She also advises clients on financing projects by drafting private placement memorandums, subscription agreements, and management questionnaires.

Her experience also includes working with professional athletes, influencers, and other talent-based and retail clients on entity formation, organization, and operation needs. She has worked with these same clients on brand partnerships and endorsements and represented creators of popular video channels on their intellectual property needs such as video licensing proposals. For luxury retail clients, she has drafted franchise, distribution, and sales representation agreements.

In previous roles, Katherine served as an in-house counsel extern for a leading industrial technology company.

Katherine earned her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she served as a staff member and articles and notes editor with the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina.

Outside of work, Katherine enjoys reading, tennis, cooking, interior design, and traveling.
