Hunter Snowden helps businesses navigate the complex and evolving legal landscape of data privacy, cybersecurity, and technology transactions as well as the routine transactional needs of clients. Hunter has experience in various industries including technology, finance, manufacturing, automotive, retail, real estate, and government relations.

Hunter is recognized by the IAPP as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), which is the gold standard for privacy professionals in America.

Hunter received his law degree and MBA from Emory University. There, he earned a professional certificate in transactional law, was a managing editor of the Emory International Law Review, vice president of both the Corporate and Business Law Society and the International Law Society, and the founding president of Goizueta Business School’s chapter of the Adam Smith Society.

During law school, Hunter gained merger and acquisition experience working for a global e-commerce company. He also was a law clerk for a global beverage corporation, a Chicago-based business law firm, and a national retailer, where he prepared research and transactional agreements for clients in areas such as commercial, intellectual property, and franchise law. Prior to joining Parker Poe, Hunter worked as a legal policy associate at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, contributing to publications on corporate governance, legal education, and capital markets. He also spent a summer as a law clerk in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio, where he helped produce briefs, memoranda, and motion responses on criminal, civil, and regulatory cases and investigations.

Hunter earned his bachelor’s degree, with honors and distinction, from Duke University. At Duke, he published an honors thesis on the political economics of global trade relations, served as a managing editor of Juris — Duke’s undergraduate law journal — and was involved in student government.

Outside of work, Hunter enjoys clay pigeon shooting, classic films, learning German, and cheering on his Duke Blue Devils and the Charlotte Checkers.
